Inpatient Dual Diagnosis Services
Co-occurring Psychiatric and Chemical Dependency Diagnosis
Many people come to Fairmount with feelings of loneliness, depression and other emotional difficulties while also struggling with alcohol and/or drug addiction. Fairmount’s dual diagnosis service provides both psychiatric inpatient care along with evidence-based substance abuse treatment.
Many of the individuals we treat experience depression, anxiety, and have experienced serious traumas in their lives. May of these individuals have also developed serious addictions to drugs and alcohol. The clinical program of the unit is designed to provide both evidence-based substance abuse and mental health treatment.
Our skilled clinicians provide group and individual cognitive behavioral therapy to address substance use and its underlying causes. The experienced unit psychiatrists have an understanding of the relationships between mental health and substance abuse issues and provide their care accordingly.
Our nursing staff provides 24/7 treatment and education to assist the patients to learn about themselves and to practice new, healthier coping skills. Nursing staff also provide psychoeducational groups to help those we serve to better understand their addictions. Our treatment also includes detoxification and the 12-step recovery program for adults, placing us among the leading mental health and chemical dependency treatment centers for inpatient dual diagnostic services.
