Welcome From Our CEO

Professional Portrait of Mark Howard | FairmountBHS.com

As I have joined the Fairmount Behavioral Health team, I have found a group of highly dedicated individuals who are committed to providing exceptional care to those suffering from behavioral health and substance use disorders. As I have gotten to know this amazing group of professionals, I find most have personal stories and experiences with behavioral health or substance use disorders that have affected family members and friends. It seems we have all been touched in some way or another by mental health and substance use disorders. Touching lives in a meaningful and personal way is the thread that ties our team together.

Our success in serving individuals and families going through crisis rests on a personal commitment to our mission and values by each staff member. Here at Fairmount, we believe hope and recovery are possible. We recognize each person has specific needs and work with them and their support system to ensure those needs are met in the most dignified and respectful manner. Our mission is to offer hope by proving a secure place for people to begin recovery and to develop healthy behaviors with dignity.

We look at recovery as a process achieved through developing strong partnerships and support systems while capitalizing on existing strengths. Going through a crisis can be scary and even paralyzing. Having a group of compassionate professionals assist you through that process can make all the difference. We want to provide you with the tools and resources to achieve recovery, growth and healing. If you or a loved one is struggling with a mental health or substance use disorder, know that you are not alone. We are here and will support you through the crisis.

I have the privilege of serving and leading an organization that is committed to these values. We will continue to grow together and serve those who are hurting and struggling. We look forward to continuing our service in the Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

If we can be of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team.

Mark L. Howard, MSSW
Chief Executive Officer
