Youth Mental Health Resources & Articles
Mental & Behavioral Health Resources for Adolescents & Teens:
At Fairmount, we work with children and adolescents everyday. However, it is important to understand the different signs and symptoms of certain conditions that youth may face prior-to becoming treated or affected with a health condition. Our internal clinical team has developed numerous case studies, articles, and resources at your disposal. These articles will serve as educational content for those who might be struggling with helping their children.
Why Is It Important to Discuss Adolescent Mental Health Issues?
Having a general conversation with your child or teen can often be difficult. It can be just as hard being a parent of a child who is in more serious need of attention and help. It is also a challenge knowing what proactive steps are needed when dealing with a child suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, or more. There comes a time as a parent, you have to have a more serious conversation with your child on their behavioral health and be proactive as to what is next.
At Fairmount, we realize that the beginning stages of mental health research is not easy on parents, which is why we are continuously creating articles for parents to utilize. Below, our resources provide parents with better understanding of signs or symptoms that your child may, in fact, be suffering from.
Our Adolescent & Teen Mental Health Resources may help do one or more of the following:
- Open a new dialogue with your child around their feelings and senses
- Help see that signs or symptoms within a covered topic may directly correlate to your child
- Provide greater knowledge around signs and symptoms that may not be credible from other online resources
- Understand a difference in your child’s behaviors and relate them to a specific mental health condition
What Can You Expect From Our Youth Mental Health Discussion & Articles Below
Some of our articles are gender-specific. For example, mentoring adolescent girls and empowering them in order to establish a stronger stability with young girls’ mental health. Other topics include stress on youth and teens, drug treatment options, and grappling with trauma and grief. These matters are most relative to the children and teens that are treated within our inpatient and acute partial programs. Our leadership staff at Fairmount wanted to cover and create discussions around these prevalent mental health issues that affect the youth in our local and national community. If these topics resonate with you or a family member, perhaps it is time to look into our inpatient or acute partial adolescent programs.
