Support for Families

Families F.I.R.S.T. Program

Family involvement is an important part of the recovery process at Fairmount Behavioral Health, and family members with a loved one in treatment often need emotional support themselves. Our social work department provides family therapy every week to foster communication skills, cohesion and adaptability between youth and their caretakers.

Families F.I.R.S.T. (Families Investing in Recovery and Supporting Treatment) is designed to support families with a loved one who suffers from a mental health disorder. The program focuses on education, recognizing red flags, resources in the community, answering questions about your loved one’s symptoms and overall support for one another.

We meet to discuss various symptoms of mental health disorders in a supportive environment. If you have a loved one that is currently at Fairmount Behavioral Health System, please feel free to attend. Our goal is to support the families in our community so they do not feel alone.

Families F.I.R.S.T. is held by appointment only. To make an appointment or ask questions about the program, please call Rebecca Smith, LPC at 215-487-4189.
