Support for Family
Families are an important part of the patient’s treatment program, and they often need emotional support themselves. Family Therapy is provided weekly by our social work department to foster communication skills, cohesion and adaptability between youth and their caretakers.
Families F.I.R.S.T. (Families Investing Recovery & in Supporting Treatment) Program
It can be stressful when a loved one is suffering from mental illness.
Families F.I.R.S.T. is a program designed to support families who have been dealing with a loved one who suffers from mental illness. Our program focuses on education, recognizing red flags, resources in the community, answering questions you may have about your loved ones symptoms and overall support for one another. We meet to discuss various symptoms of mental illness in a supportive environment. If you have a loved one that is currently at Fairmount Behavioral Health please feel free to attend. Our goal is to support the families in our community so they do not feel alone. The Families F.I.R.S.T. Program is held by appointment only. To make an appointment or for questions regarding the program, please call Rebecca Smith, LPC 215-487-4189.
