One of the primary activities of nursing staff is to establish a trusting, therapeutic relationship with each patient through daily, consistent contact. Our nursing staff maintains ongoing contact with the patient’s family as appropriate. The nursing services we provide to a patient are determined according to the patient’s level of care.
Additional Nursing Staff Responsibilities
- Present a positive model of interpersonal relationships
- Offer learning opportunities about self and exploring patterns of interaction
- Ongoing patient assessment and observation
- Support and education for self-care
- Oversee proper nutrition and appropriate sleep patterns
- Detect and care for patients’ biological health issues such as responses to medications
- Assist therapeutic activities focused on improving of recreational, occupational and social competence
- Provide continuity of patient care from admission to discharge
- Participate in planned and informal group meetings to identify the process of interaction
- Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team to cooperatively plan and implement patient care.
